'The Bushfires, South Coast NSW, 2020'

After witnessing distraught wildlife, seeing the fires come so close to our home, running out of resources, power, petrol and being disconnected from knowledge about how severe the fires actually were, I returned to Sydney I painted two large scale canvases.

Back down the South Coast, the beaches were covered in coal and large logs from fallen trees were drifting in the ocean and washing up onto the shore. Out of the heaviness of the fires I did a self-recorded performance, using one of the washed up logs and the shoreline as my canvas.

Using found charcoal I made a home made "ink" to paint a series of ink drawings on paper.
